The four soccer fields, parking lot, and paved walkways presently occupy about twenty-five
acres of the park. The land was acquired in two phases. The first and larger piece of land
was acquired in 1974 for $148,696. A smaller piece was purchased later to allow primary
access from Crim Road, instead of Tullo Road.
Adamsville Maintenance constructed the first phase of the park in 1995, including: the
parking lot, driveway, fields, paved walks, and water service. The total cost was
$263,692.03, which was $37,878.77 below the bid price. Kinsey Associates completed the
park plan, but Township staff completed the specifications and obtained the needed NJDEP
permits.
In 1766 there was a sawmill on the opposite side of the brook.
