Jason's Boardwalk

Jason’s Boardwalk. Jason Pulsinelli was the first scout to construct boardwalks on 6x6 sleepers. The scouts and the Township learned a lot about boardwalk construction during this project. There are five segments totaling 165 Feet. Completed by Jason Pulsinelli and Troop 88 in October 1997

Old Wood Road. At some point in the past the owners of this property had a dirt road or driftway that was used by trucks. This may have been done to gather firewood. The ruts made by the tires are still visible. An estimate of when such an activity ended can be made by looking at the size of the trees in between the ruts. If the trees in the road are much smaller than the rest of the forest, the road ran through woods. If they are the same size, the road ran through an old field. The signs of past land uses such as stonewalls, drainage fields, fence lines, and roads are often still evident decades or centuries after the activity stopped to those that know how to look.
