This section of sanitary sewer is Sanitary Sewer Trunk 19-G Section 4, which is part of
the Middle Brook Trunk Sewer. This was a series of five projects, including the Gilbride
Pump Station, built between 1980 and 1985 by the Township at a total cost of $3,588,795,
of which about 83 percent was covered by grants and the remainder was from general
taxation funds.
Trunk sewers act as the major highways of the sewer system connecting various collector
sewers to the regional sewer treatment plant located on Polhemus Lane near the Raritan
River. The area is often wet and should not be used for hiking or biking.
