Middle Brook Weir

Middle Brook Weir. This weir, located in the brook upstream from the Tullo Road Bridge, is the Middle Brook Weir. It was constructed in a cooperative effort between the Bridgewater Township Environmental Commission and the United States Geologic Service (USGS). The cost to the Township was $7,201.50 for the weir itself. The USGS installed the gauges and recording devices at their cost. The weir became functional in 1982.

Its purpose was to monitor small storm events prior to the growth in Washington Valley that was expected when the sanitary sewers were installed. The concrete weir provides a known section to measure the flow of the stream at a measured elevation. The elevation was measured and recorded in the small structure on the stream bank.

It is easily visible from the Tullo Road vehicular bridge
